A few weekends ago we had the opportunity to go to the Pittsburgh Symphony since there was a CMU night. We headed over for a little pre-show reception and enjoyed the fruit and cheese as well as hearing the Presidents of Carnegie Mellon and the conductor talk about the experience. I think Daniel and I have always tried to enjoy a variety of cultural events since we started dating. We really love having a taste of a variety of things and the symphony was no different. It was a very enjoyable event and even though I kind of think some of the traditions of the symphony are strange it was a good night and incredible talents were shared.
I have found that at the symphony that I have a lot of time to think about anything and everything. Something I couldn't help but think while we were listening is that all of these people performing have extraordinary musical talent and that talent probably came from their passion for their instrument. I am sure there is a lot of lessons, classes, and hours behind every musicians performance. I couldn't help but wonder what my passion is. This has been something I have struggled with for a while and at this time of my life I feel like I wish I knew my passion now more than ever. I not only want to discover my passion but also feel like it has purpose behind it. What can I do that I not only love but that will be something I can contribute to society. It is a really hard question, but I want to have a focus on it in my life and I want to do things that will allow me to discover talents and passions.

Carnegie Mellon University has a football team! I know a little surprising. They had a game on Saturday and Daniel and I decided to go since we both like a good football game. We weren't really sure what to expect or if it would be any good but we decided it would be fun anyways. When we arrived at the Stadium it was pretty funny because we were kind of looking for somewhere to show our student ID but it was just a walk right in kind of sporting event. I thought great, this is cheaper than my high school football team. They started early and continued to play the whole time, oh the things you can do when you do not need T.V. timeouts.
It was a great game, the teams were evenly matched, they both scored often, it ended up going into double overtime, and Carnegie Mellon won! We were badly sunburnt by the end, it has been so beautiful and overcast for the past week we didn't even thing about sunscreen. I though we would be wearing sweatshirts. Oh well, it was so fun and we got to meet the Carnegie Mellon Mascot-Maggie the Scotty Dog. She is pretty cute and she was donated to the University by Bill Cosby, which I think is awesome because I love Bill Cosby!

We have loved Rad Days so far. They have given us the opportunity and incentive to go out an explore Pittsburgh. Today was great because we got to go check out the Steelers stadium. It is also where Pitt plays. I wasn't quite sure what the free tour would be like or if we would get to see anything really cool... well it was pretty good. At first we just went up to the top of the stadium stopping at some club seats, but it seemed like they were under construction. The view from the top of the Stadium is great.
On the way down is when it got really cool. The view of the point from on the the west ramp is beautiful.
We got to go into the press box and learn a little about what goes on in there. We also got to walk down one of the halls that has all of the suites. It did not feel like we were in a Stadium anymore, it felt like we were at a luxury hotel or something. Then we headed down to the locker rooms. We all touched the "Men of Steel"emblem before we went through the Steelers tunnel out onto the field.
It was pretty awesome to come out of the tunnel and see the whole stadium all of the sudden all around us. It must be a rush to run out when they are filled with a cheering crowd waving their terrible towels.
Then we went back into the locker room and got to see both the Steelers locker room and the visiting teams locker room. They come in a day before game day and bring all the equipment and everything so they were pretty empty but it was awesome and cool to think about what it would be like on a game day.
Finally we went down the tunnel that the visiting team has to run through to get out onto the field and saw some behind the scenes stuff. We also walked past this wall where they display all the different Terrible Towels they have. It was such a fun tour and I am glad we could take advantage or it.
We came home around noon Daniel told me he was exhausted and said maybe we should not do so many fun things. Haha we ought to do fun things while they are free, right? We will slow down once they are expensive again...
